  19. The best one is 'Octamed v5', although I haven't been paying much attention to 
  20. the hype about 'Octamed v6' recently.  The other point is how would you define 
  21. good quality?  Standard audio tape quality it is not, but it is better than a 
  22. smack in the face with a wet fish.  Things that will help the use of the 
  23. program are killing WB in the background, turning off all equalizers, getting 
  24. rid of as many colours etc etc...  While the program will run, it will seem 
  25. just like Microsloth Windoze 3.1!

  27. I haven't actually tried v5 in 8-mode yet so this is really based 
  28. on v3/v4. Another thing you could try doing is borrowing or buying another 
  29. A500. Then you can Midi link them together thus having 8-channels, with only a 
  30. serial cable.  I can't remember how to do this though, sorry!
